Why Autumn Tea?
Everyone needs a good go-to autumn tea in these cold months, leading up to winter. While autumn brings beautiful changing colors, it also the start of the cold season, and can affect each of us differently. The colder weather can lead to dry skin and irritation. Colds and flues are also extremely common and unpleasant in these autumn months. A great, and also delicious, way to prevent these unpleasant situations is by drinking autumn tea blends.
Autumn Tea Recipes
Pu-Erh and Honey Tea
Pu-erh tea is perfect for such a task. It is a mild, warming tea that can be combined with different elements and flavors to create the perfect soothing blend. It also soothes the stomach and aids in digestion.
- Pu-erh tea (bag or loose leaf)
- 1/2 teaspoon of cream
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried chrysanthemum
- 1 teaspoon of honey
Boil some water and add the above mentioned ingredients (except the honey) in the water after the boiling has stopped. Mix the ingredients and let the steep and cool for about 4-5 minutes. Strain into a cup and add 1 teaspoon of honey (or more, depending on taste).
Cinnamon Apple Tea
This tea is meant to energize you and warm you up for the day. It is based on apples so you will not need any teabags for this.
- 1 apple
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice
- 1/2 teaspoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of whip cream
Cut the apples finely and mash them with a fork at the bottom of your tea-cup or mug. Add the ingredients mentioned above on top of the apple layer. Boil some water and add it to you cup, and let it sit for about 5 minutes, while mixing. Add a teaspoon of whip cream on top.
Apple Cranberry Tea
Apple Cranberry is a perfect autumn tea blend that is meant to get you into the autumn spirit, and at the same time induce a relaxing mood, similar to that of Sleepy Tea from Fit Life Tea.
- 6 tea bags (of Kou Tea)
- 5 cups of apple juice
- ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
- ¼ cup of lemon juice
- 2-3 cups of cranberry juice
- ½ cup of sugar
Boil water in a large vessel and add the 6 tea bags of Kou Tea and let steep for up to 10 minutes. Remove the bags from the water and add the rest of the ingredients mentioned above, and stir for 1 minute. This tea is served warm, not hot, and will have a calming and warming effect on the entire body.
